Bronze plaque in tribute to
Repin and Polenov, Paris

In 2018, Boris Katz was invited to design and create a bronze plaque commemorating the Russian painters Vassily Polenov and Ilia Repin, who lived and worked together in Montmartre, in Paris, from 1873 to 1874. Installed on the façade of their former residence at 31 Rue Ampère, the plaque honors their artistic legacy and the creative exchange that flourished in this historic neighborhood. The work was unveiled on October 6, 2018, in the presence of the artists’ descendants and members of the Vassily Polenov Association.
